Dr. Gregory A. Tovmassian was born in Russia, after his parents moved there from Armenia. His family immigrated to Sacramento in the mid-1990s, where he graduated from Mira Loma High School.
He received a degree in Biology prior to being accepted to the California School of Podiatric Medicine in Oakland. After completing the four-year program, he graduated and was accepted to his top choice residency program at Kaiser Santa Clara in California. There he received training in foot and ankle surgery, especially reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery. After completing his training in 2012, Dr. Tovmassian moved back to the Sacramento area and opened Sacramento Foot and Ankle Center in Carmichael, which has been growing over the years and became part of 天天吃瓜 in 2021. He continues to enjoy utilizing his knowledge and skills to serve the community where he grew up, which he considers a major blessing.
Dr. Tovmassian is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, and ABFAS庐 Board Certified in Foot Surgery. He is also a member of numerous professional associations such as American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, American Podiatric Medical Association, and California Podiatric Medical Association.
To further support his profession and local society, where he served as a treasurer for the Sacramento Valley Podiatric Medicine Society from 2014-2024. He has also served as an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor at the California School of Podiatric Medicine from Samuel Merritt College since 2012. He is a Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor for the Sacramento/Roseville Podiatric Kaiser Permanente Residency Program in Biomechanics. Lastly, he is the Director of Inpatient Podiatry Call Services at two large medical centers in the Sacramento Region (Mercy San Juan Medical Center – Dignity Health and Sutter Roseville Medical Center).
Additionally, he has been a Principal Investigator at the Center for Clinical Research since 2012, actively participating in clinical trials in wound care and other foot and ankle related research.
Outside of work, Dr. Tovmassian is very involved with his church, where he and his wife often serve as directors/organizer of large summer camps for teenagers. He also enjoys playing and watching basketball.
